The latest buzz on Bhagyaraj,  an ace filmmaker/actor known for his mastery in screenplay writing, is that he will don a negative character in Mysskin’s Thupparivaalan. The maverick director   last donned the the role of a villain  36 years back in a film titled Vidiyum Varai Kaathiru. Bhagyaraj, in his early days, attempted a negative role with Kanni Paruvathile, but later shifted gears — and then continuously churned out hits playing the lead and directing his films.

Given the fact that Mysskin had cast hero  and director Pandiayarajan as a powerful villain in his earlier movie Anjathey, reports on Bhagyaraj being roped in for  Thupparivalan as an antagonist do not come as a surprise.

The film has an ensemble cast of Vishal, Vinay Rai, Prasanna, Akshara Haasan, Anu Emmanuel and Andrea Jeremiah. When contacted, a close source to the production house confirmed the news saying, “Bhagyaraj plays a stylish elite character,  and will be part of a villainous gang. Yes, his role will have shades of grey, if not a hardcore villain.”
