More screens for Karuppan

Looks like the winning streak continues for Vijay Sethupathi! His last four flicks turned out to be blockbusters, and now his recently-released family drama Karuppan has also been declared a hit. Speaking to DC, the distributor of the movie Alexander says, “We have increased to around 100 more screens since last Friday. I have also distributed earlier films of Sethupathi like Iraivi and Dharmadurai. We also share a special bond.” Ask him if it was due to the film industry’s decision to stop releasing new Tamil films from October 6 — a measure taken to protest against additional state entertainment tax — and he says, “Maybe! But, family audiences are flocking to the theaters.”
