Critically-acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap is all set to make his debut in K-town as an actor in the upcoming film, Imaikaa Nodigal, directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu.

Anurag himself confirmed the news that he plays the role of the antagonist, Rudra — and that he’s excited to be a part of this nail-biting thriller.

Imaikaa Nodigal stars Atharvaa, Nayanthara and Raashi Khanna as the lead actors. Initially, director Gautham Menon was rumoured to be playing the villain in the film.

Acting is not a new venture for Anurag, who has played several cameos in his directorial ventures, including Black Friday. Also, his recent performance as the villain in AR Murugadosss Akira was received well by the audience and critics.

The recent developmenthave raised a lot of expectations for the film since the director has a huge fan base in K-town.

Though Anurag has not been involved directly in any Tamil films, he is known for his friendly associations with many K-town directors like Vetrimaaran, Bala, and Sasikumar. It is also rumoured that Anurag was the one to suggest that Vetrimaaran make Vada Chennai in three parts — rather as one feature film.
