Bala's assistant Geetha turns indie

Ace Bala’s assistant and an award winning short filmmaker Geetha Rajput turns independent with the movie Narmadha. She has aptly chosen a most accepted theme - mother and son bonding - for her debut with young actress Nandita Swetha playing the lead role. Produced by GR Movie Makers, Vijay Vasanth is roped in to play the male protagonist. Santhosh Prathap, newcomer Arun Deepak, Master Renish play prominent roles.
Geetha was critically acclaimed for her movies like Ennai Thediya Naan on transgenders, Mayakkam, a romantic genre and Kapaali, which is about a boy with hearing and speech impairment.
Speaking about her big screen debut with commercial genre, Geetha says, “It’s an emotional family entertainer which focuses on mom-son relationship. Nandita essays the mother of 7-year-old boy. Vijay Vasanth will be portraying a never-seen before character. Talks are on with a leading actor for a cameo appearance. A huge set against the naturalistic backdrops of Nagercoil is being erected and we are planning to kick-start shooting by second week of May.”
