Daniel rose to fame with his character Romba Sumar Moonji Kumar in Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara. The actor is now awaiting the release of Gautham Karthik’s Rangoon and Aadhi’s Maragadha Nanayam. Apart from these two films, Daniel has been signed on to play Santhanam’s friend in Sakkai Podu Podu Raja, which also has Vivekh playing one of the lead roles.

Speaking to DC, Daniel says, “From Lollu Sabha days, I have been in touch with director Sethuraman and Santhanam anna. I got an opportunity to act with Santhanam in Pollathavan. We were looking forward to collaborate again, but things didn’t materialise. When the script of Sakka Podu Podu Raja came my way, I grabbed it.”

Daniel wants to get out of the Romba Sumar Moonji Kumar image desperately, as he thinks he has overdone it. “This film won’t have traces of the Kumar character at all. I am bored of it. Since I share a personal rapport with Santhanam, I have the freedom to improvise my scenes on-the-spot,” he adds.
Acting alongside Santhanam is something Daniel is looking forward to — “He has become a hero and he knows about the struggles of an upcoming actor too. Since we all sail on the same boat, it is easier for us to work together,” he explains.

Along with this film, Daniel is also part of Dhanush and Amala Paul starrer Vada Chennai, directed by Vetri Maaran. “I wasn’t a part of the first schedule that was shot at Binny Mills. I will be sporting a bearded look in Vada Chennai. I play Dhanush’s friend and the second schedule will commence by mid-January,” he concludes.
