Piracy has been a long-standing threat to Tamil cinema. And Actor Vishal, secretary of the Nadigar Sangam and president of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC), has championed the cause and been instrumental introducing measures to curb piracy. Under his leadership, the TFPC’s Anti-Piracy Cell has been very effective at bringing down the rate of piracy in Tamil Nadu.

Even the Central Government has taken note of the Cell’s activities and termed it the best anti-piracy cell in India. Vishal and team have been invited to present suggestions to the Central Government to bring down the rate of piracy across the country.

The TFPC recently tweeted, “Central government has invited our Antipiracy team to discuss technical drawbacks and assured maximum support to kill piracy. We have been identified as the best antipiracy team in India (sic).”

The Anti-Piracy Cell has also been granted special access to the admin tool of Uppit.com, a file-sharing website, so that it may identify copyright violations and delete files at once.
