Kaala (U/A) to hit marquee on April 27
The source also clarified the film was not given A' certificate initially as it was made out to be.
Reports suggest Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kaala in Pa. Rajith’s direction has been censored and given U/A Certificate with 14 cuts. A source from the makers Wunderbar Films reveals the film went to the censors after obtaining No Objection Certificate from Tamil Film Producers Council. Unconfirmed rumours suggested that CBFC officials watched the film at Dhanush’s Wunderbar office. A source close to the production house rubbished such speculative reports about the movie being screened at their office for Censors.
The source also clarified the film was not given ‘A’ certificate initially as it was made out to be. Kaala was awarded U/A with only a few cuts.
Kaala is not wholly fictional. While Rajini plays a gangster, the story is inspired from the life of a Tamil leader who hailed from Nellai and settled in Mumbai. Sources say that the Superstar has spoken in the Nellai slang with a mix of Dharavi Hindi and it will be a treat to his fans. The film features Huma Qureshi, Anjali Patil, Eswari Rao, Samudhrakani, Sukanya and Pankaj Tripathi. In all probability, the movie would hit the marquee as planned on April 27, although that depends on a solution having been found to the K’town strike by then.
