Dileepan plays Rajinikanth's son

The hype surrounding director Pa. Ranjith’s Kaala — boasting of a huge star cast including Rajinikanth, Eswari Rao, Huma Qureshi and Nana Patekar — seems to be growing by the day. The film went on floors on May 28 and many important scenes were shot during the two schedules in Mumbai. The team is currently on a break as Rajinikanth has headed to the US for a medical check-up.

According to sources, actor Dileepan of Vathikuchi fame plays one of Rajinikanth’s sons  in the movie.

“Thalaivar’s character Karikaalan hails from Tirunelveli and his entire family including his wife (played by Eswari Rao) and sons move to Dharavi for survival.

The story of Karikalan’s rise as a gangster is portrayed in the story. Huma Qureshi (she essays the role of Zareena) comes as Karikaalan’s ex-girlfriend and their combination scenes will be a treat to watch out for,” the source added.

It is said that the team will be resuming the shoot in Chennai and a huge set resembling Dharavi has been erected in the city. The audiences are in for a treat as two of Superstar Rajinikanth’s movies — 2.0 and Kaala will be up for release in 2018.
