A love story with a difference

At a time when Tamil cinema is being ruled by action and horror movies, director Vallimuthu is trying to make up for the dearth of cute love stories with his debut offering – Parthibhan Kadhal.

Talking about the film, Vallimuthu says, “The story is inspired by real-life incidents from my friend’s life. The hero is an art student, and the leading lady is a college girl from a rural milieu. When they meet, the inevitable happens, and they fall in love.”

The director says that he has tried to portray love in a new light. “Ambikapathi-Amaravathy and Romeo-Juliet are the classic lovers we know of, but they had failed love affairs. My story is all about how a couple that succeeds in sustaining their love against all odds and leads an exemplary life,” he says.

Parthibhan Kadhal features newcomers Yogi and Varshitha playing the lead pair.
