Raghava Lawrence, who is gearing up with the release of his Muni franchise Kanchana 3, is known for his benevolent ways as well. The actor and filmmaker bought a piece of land (1.25 grounds) in Meenjur, near Chennai and handed it over to the trans-women community on International Transgender Day (March 31).

The land has been donated exclusively for those transgenders who do not have a shelter. A building needs to be built on the land and a public appeal has been made for this purpose, revealed Lawrence. One may recall Kanchana featured Sarathkumar as the ghost of a trans-woman who possesses Lawrence’s character to take revenge on his detractors.

Muni 4 Kanchana 3 has three female leads —Vedhika, Oviya and Nikki Tamboli.  Those on the ensemble cast are Soori, Kovai Sarala, Sreeman, Devadarshini, Delhi Ganesh, Sampathram, Anupama Kumar, Tarun Arora, Kabir Duhan Singh and Ajay Ghosh. “A pucca commercial entertainer, like my previous parts, this film also addresses a social issue,” says Lawrence.
