After unveiling the audio tracks of Inaya Thalaimurai, IAS officer Sahayam who came into the limelight after exposing the granite scam in Madurai, said that though many requested him to enter politics and compete in the elections, he has decided to bring about a change in society from outside politics.

Ilanthirumaran, who fought against corruption and stood in the 2006 elections as an independent candidate from Chepauk constituency, has produced this political movie.

Impressed by Ilanthirumaran’s ideals, Sahayam revealed that he and his wife voted for him then. “We were residing in Chepauk and hadn’t even seen Ilanthirumaran. But his social consciousness, and fighting against corruption attracted me and we cast our votes for him irrespective of whether he would win or lose. I met him only in 2014,” he said.

A few years later, Thirumaran spoke to me and urged me to come to politics. “He said, ‘I know you don’t have money in your bank and you will have to quit your job if you enter politics. You wont get a salary for eight years. Still, I request you to join politics because I am ready to compensate you for that time. I want people like you to come to politics’. I was taken aback.” Meanwhile, national award winning actor-director Samuthirakani has plans to make a biographical movie about Sahayam.
