Junga team in spot of bother
The film is said to be the costliest production in the actor's career.
Sources say that a complaint has been lodged against actor-producer Vijay Sethupathi with TFPC for shooting his upcoming flick Junga in Portugal and Georgia, despite the ongoing film strike when no one is allowed to shoot. Junga is directed by Gokul who is teaming up with Sethupathi for the second time after Idharkkuthaane Aasai Pattai Balakumara and has Sayeesha Saigal in the lead.
The film is said to be the costliest production in the actor’s career. Some producers had come forward to bankroll the Rs 20 crore budget flick, but Sethupathi took the decision of himself producing it. He reasoned it out saying, “Since it involves huge money, I don’t want to put other producers in jeopardy. I will make it in my own banner. That way the responsibilities become mine.”
According to the makers of Junga, they had made all arrangements to shoot in locales abroad and paid money to start shooting even before the announcement of the strike. Also, they had applied for visas and other formalities were over long back. “So, we will incur a big loss if we cancel the shoot and also we don’t know if we can get the same locales later on,” the unit says. But some producers are not willing to buy their statement and insist on action being taken against them.
