Rajinikanth conferred icon award at the International Film Festival of India

Rajinikanth-starrer, 'Annaatthe', was halted after four of the film crew tested postive for COVID-19.

Rajinikanth has been honoured with a special award in recognition of his contribution over many decades to the film industry, at the International Film Festival of India to be held in Goa.

This was announced by Union minister Prakash Jhavdekar on his social media handle. It is learnt the award is not a lifetime achievement award. The superstar has been named the Icon of the Golden Jubilee of IFFI 2019. Rajini thanked the central government for the award.
