This is the biggest and latest buzz surrounding Vijay’s upcoming flick with Atlee, tentatively titled, Vijay 61.  Ilayathalapathy, for the first time in his 24 years of acting career will be seen in a triple role — that of a father and two sons.

Unconfirmed reports reveal that the ‘father’ Vijay will be a sardar and Nithya Menen will be his pair, while one of the two sons is a cop. Samantha and Kajal are their romantic interests. Interestingly, Vijay and Nithya’s portions appear in flashback and  is set in the 1980s, which were shot recently in Chennai.

We earlier wrote about Atlee’s location hunt in the US before commencement of the shoot, as a part of the story happens there. Now with Donald Trump’s tough immigration policies, it seems Atlee has tweaked his script a bit and decided to shoot the film in European locales like London and Spain. It is also said that actor SJ Suryah might join the next leg of shoot in Chennai.

One may recall that Rajinikanth had essayed a triple role of father and sons in Moondru Mugam, Kamal Haasan in Aboorva Sahodarargal, Ajith in Varalaaru — all of them were critically acclaimed, besides being box office hits. Hope Vijay will also strike gold with his triple role.
