Tamil cinema has been evolving quickly, and how! But these three youngsters have managed to record most of it in a video that runs for less than six minutes.

The video, starring Canada-based Thakshikah Sritharan, her brother Saikavin, and their friend Kavistuthy Thavanesan, has garnered a massive fan following for its unique content.

“We watched a video called The Evolution of Hollywood by SketchSHE, and thought about emulating it with a Tamil version! We initially wanted to show the evolution through three girls, but we eventually chose Sai because we wanted it to be innovative,” Thakshikah tells us.

The trio go through a series of wacky wardrobe changes that epitomise what made these songs the pop-culture phenomena they became — from Style Style Than in Baasha and Malai Malai in Chocolate to Appadi Podu in Ghilli and Udhungada Sangu in VIP! Their expressions are hilariously spot on, and their dance moves, make-up, and costumes were eventually what caused the video to stand out. “We really didn’t expect the video to go viral. Of course, we worked really hard for two days, but a lot of credit goes to our parents, G Design Labs and Yashtra,” they say.

Talking about his India visits with his sister, Sai exclaims, “I love the hot weather! I’ve been to India thrice, and I love visiting Saravana Bhavan everytime and also eating Tirupathi ladoos. We love Kollywood too and our family watches a Tamil movie once every week!”

“We are currently in the process of doing several other projects. You’ll have to stay tuned to our channel to know more,” they conclude.
