The Bigg Boss reality show contestant, Saravanan, who was in the centre of the groping storm, has apologised for his insensitive comment. The actor had revealed on the Bigg Boss Tamil show that he had groped women in public transport during his college days. The comment became a hot topic, putting the host Kamal Haasan also in a spot of bother as Chinmayi Sripada named him for his outrageous response that seemed to make a joke of such a serious issue

Following widespread backlash and criticism, the ‘Bigg Boss’ of the house called Saravanan into the confession room on Monday’s episode and instructed him to apologise. The Paruthi Veeran actor claimed he had been cut off in the previous episode and that he had in fact wanted to tell people not to repeat his ‘minor mistakes’.

He said, “I want to clarify something. When Kamal sir spoke of the issue, I agreed in haste that I did the same in buses. During my college days, I have made certain mistakes, small ones. I wanted to tell the viewers not to indulge in such things. I want all youngsters to know that it’s wrong. I share such experiences with people to warn them against it and there are punishments for them. But before I could tell this, it got cut. I am not the same person now. I once again apologise if I had hurt anyone."

Many feel Saravanan does not seem to have understood the seriousness of his actions despite the outrage, as sexual harassment is a crime punishable under law. The consequences of the act are far from being ‘minor or small’.
