Superstar Jr. NTR has taken a short break from shooting his much-anticipated next film, tentatively titled Dragon, after falling ill. The high-budget pan-India project is being directed by KGF and Salaar fame Prashanth Neel.

The film’s shoot was underway in Hyderabad and was halted yesterday after Jr NTR reportedly came down with a cold and fever. According to a source, the actor has been shooting intense action sequences continuously for nearly 20 days at a specially erected set in Ramoji Film City, taking only a brief three-day break during Sankranthi.

“After working non-stop on demanding action scenes, even Jr NTR got extremely exhausted,” the source revealed, adding that the team decided to pause the shoot to allow the actor adequate rest and recovery, adds the source.

Jr NTR’s dedication to the physically demanding sequences has further raised expectations around the film. Reports suggest that the actor will be seen in three distinct avatars in this gangster drama, which revolves around drug lords and the drug politics of Eastern India.

Despite the temporary halt, the makers are hopeful of releasing the film later this year. The shooting schedule had earlier faced a delay as well after Jr NTR sustained a minor leg injury during filming.

Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth plays the female lead, while Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor will be seen in a special role. Designed as a pan-world action spectacle, Dragon is one of the most ambitious projects in Jr NTR’s career.
