How Hanuman Ansh Fought Back After Losing Screens to Yash’s Toxic
The arrival of big releases like Awarapan 2 and Toxic reduced its presence to just 25-30 screens.
The theatrical journey of Hanuman Ansh has seen unexpected twists. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film started its release in 350 theatres. However, its screen count took a sharp hit in its second week. The arrival of big releases like Awarapan 2 and Toxic reduced its presence to just 25-30 screens.
Despite the steep drop in screens, the film held its ground. Box office collections remained steady, giving the makers hope. Producer Ragini Sona revealed that the team considered ending the theatrical run. However, she and Chaturvedi chose to fight for another week. They convinced distributors to push forward with additional screens.
Faced with heavy competition from Yash's Toxic, the team stayed focused on their film. Sona shared that they relied on faith during tense moments. They never viewed the situation as a direct battle to defeat the other release. Instead, they believed both projects could thrive together and benefit the industry.
The decision paid off well for the makers. By day 44, Hanuman Ansh earned Rs 293.53 crore rupees in India. The cast features Shobhinaw Satyaa, Vihaan Shedge, Chandan Anand, and Purnima Tiwari. The film's Telugu theatrical release has been put on hold.
