Johnny Depp Looks Unrecognisable as Scrooge on Ebenezer Set
Ebenezer would mark a comeback for Depp who had withdrawn from big budget films after the infamous Depp Vs Heard defamation case in 2019
Johnny Depp was recently seen dressed up as Scrooge, giving fans a sneak peak amid the shooting for his upcoming movie Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol. The first unofficial look shows the 62 year old actor in an eccentric and unrecognisable attire, making him look at least 20 years older than his actual age.
Depp, who is not on unfamiliar territory with eccentric characters, is seen with head covered by a sporting hat and the long grey hair, sideburns and patchy facial hair along with wrinkled face makeup.
A Christmas Carol is a well known festive classic of Charles Dickens and over the years audiences have seen many adaptations of it, including the popular one featuring Jim Carrey. But the upcoming version might tilt towards darker themes, judging by the filmography of its director Ti- West, known for his “X trilogy". A classical narrative transformed into a horror one? That does sound exciting.
Pictures also revealed Andrea Riseborough (known for her roles in Oscar winning films like The Birdman) on the set who seems to be playing the role of Ghost of Christmas Past. Riseborough was seen completely covered in pale white makeup and wearing a long dress in the same ghostly attire.

Other Star cast who are taking part in this film are Ian Mckellen, quite famous for his portrayal as Gandalf, Rupert Grint from Harry Potter and Daisy Ridley from Star Wars to name a few. The film is set to be released in November this year with Paramount Pictures set to acquire the project.
