Rihanna is a diplomat now

Rihanna has made her case as a successful popstar as well as a businesswoman. But the Umbrella hitmaker just got a lot cooler, now that she has been vested with diplomatic powers by her home country, Barbados, reports People.com. 

The government of Barbados on Thursday announced in an official statement, Robyn ‘Rihanna’ Fenty was given the title of ‘Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary’ because she is an “outstanding Barbadian who has contributed significantly to raising the island’s profile across the world. Rihanna has a deep love for this country and this is reflected in her philanthropy, especially in the areas of health and education,” Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley said. “She also shows her patriotism in the way she gives back to this country and continues to treasure the island as her home.”

The new title, Plenipotentiary, is defined as  “a person and especially a diplomatic agent invested with full power to transact business.” Riri for president, anyone?
