Game of Thrones dominates Emmys with 12 awards, breaks record
It won the award for outstanding drama series and won 12 awards in total, out of 24.
Mumbai: ‘Game of Thrones’, also popular in India, dominated proceedings at the Emmy Awards held on Sunday night. The show won the award for the outstanding drama series and managed to win 12 awards in total, out of 24 award categories. The show has thus created a record for the most number of awards won by one particular show, which was held by ‘Frasier’ with 37 Emmys till now.
The series had also won the award for best drama last year and this just goes on to show the popularity of the show worldwide. There was there special mention for its popular episode The Battle of the Bastards which won awards for its writing and directing.
‘Veep’ also had a good day, winning outstanding comedy series award for the second year in a row while the show ‘The People v OJ Simpson’ also did well winning award for outstanding limited series award among others.
