Stan Lee passes away at 95
The veteran comic writer's death comes just a year and half after his wife Joan Lee's death in 2017.
The creator and father-figure of Marvel Comics, Stan Lee, passed away at the age of 95 on Tuesday early morning, reports People.com. Though the cause of death has not been revealed yet, Lee was said to be keeping unwell for the past few days.
Stan Lee was the co-creator, writer and producer of Marvel's most loved comics and motion-picture adaptations, including Spiderman, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor and the X-Men.
Stan Lee, in the era of Golden Age of Comics which typically meant flawless muscle-bound god-like figures, portrayed his heroes as characters with flawed and complex human personalities. This is what made Lee’s comics more relatable and popular for the 2000’s generation.
Lee was also known for his surprise cameos in all the Avengers films, the most recent being as a school bus driver in Avengers: Infinity War. The veteran comic writer’s death comes just a year and half after his wife Joan Lee’s death in 2017. They had been married for 69 years.
