Demi Lovato, 25, hinted at being sexually assaulted while growing up after being accused of harassment for pulling off what she thought was the “funniest prank ever,” reports People.com.

Lovato, during a Q&A session with her fans and followers on Twitter Sunday, revealed in a now-deleted tweet that she pranked her bodyguard by sending an escort to his room without his knowledge. She wrote in her tweet,“She walked into his room without permission and grabbed him in his ‘area’ and he freaked the f–k out hahahahaha (sic).”

Twitterati took quite the offence suggesting that Lovato had harassed her bodyguard because his consent was not involved in the entire scenario.

One Twitter user wrote, “Let me say it louder: ASSAULT IS ASSAULT!!!!! Statistics show you’re most likely to be assaulted by someone you know. I can't even imagine hiring someone to do the worst thing you can do to another human being and claim it’s a prank? MEN CAN BE ASSAULTED TOO!! (sic).”

Demi responded to the criticism with a flurry of tweets that read, “For all of those coming at me rn (right now), listen to the lyrics of ‘Warrior’ and maybe you’ll have more compassion for someone who made a simple mistake. Of all people I know about sexual abuse. You don’t have to educate me. (sic).”

Lovato has previously come out in support of victims of sexual abuse and spoken up in favor of singer Kesha during the latter’s trial  against Dr Luke.
