Green Gold Animation has launched a nationwide call for aspiring writers to co-develop its upcoming children’s animated series, offering paid collaborations and mentorship.

Green Gold Animation, the studio behind Chhota Bheem and several popular children’s characters, has announced a nationwide hunt for writers to shape its next major animated series for kids.

The initiative, open to aspiring storytellers across India, aims to discover fresh voices who can bring originality and emotional depth to children’s content. Applicants may come from diverse backgrounds — students, aspiring screenwriters, or first-time writers with an interest in kids’ storytelling. Prior animation experience is not mandatory.

Selected participants will collaborate with Green Gold’s creative team on paid assignments, working alongside writers, animators, producers, and directors. The programme also includes mentorship opportunities from senior industry professionals.

Rajiv Chilaka, Founder and CEO of Green Gold Animation, said, “For nearly two decades, we’ve had the privilege of creating characters children across India have grown up with. But storytelling evolves with each generation. Today’s kids are more curious, expressive, and connected than ever before — our stories must reflect that shift. With this initiative, we want to invite new voices into animation, especially those who’ve never had access to this space. We’re looking for stories that make children laugh, think, and see themselves on screen.”

The contest begins on September 1, 2025, and will be conducted virtually. Interested participants can register by writing to careers@greengold.tv. Upon registration, applicants will receive a creative brief for the upcoming show.

The studio said this effort reflects its commitment to inclusive, future-facing storytelling, with a focus on nurturing new talent and building India’s next generation of animated IPs.
