Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has taken a surprising turn in his opinion on Dhurandhar 2. After initially praising the film as a game-changer in Indian cinema, RGV has now raised concerns over a crucial element of its storytelling.

While he continues to appreciate the scale and craftsmanship of the film directed by Aditya Dhar, RGV has openly criticized the portrayal of underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim. According to him, the character’s depiction in the film does not match his understanding of the real-life don.

RGV pointed out that although filmmakers may rely on their own research and sources, the version shown on screen feels inaccurate to him. He even suggested that Dawood Ibrahim may have stepped away from active criminal activities nearly two decades ago, making the narrative less convincing from his perspective.

At the same time, RGV acknowledged the complexity of such subjects. He admitted that stories involving figures like Dawood Ibrahim are difficult to verify, and no one can conclusively prove or disprove these portrayals. This, he noted, makes cinematic interpretations more subjective than factual.

This shift in stance has grabbed attention, especially since RGV was among the film’s strongest supporters earlier. His mixed reaction now adds a new dimension to the ongoing discussions around Dhurandhar 2, which continues to dominate both box office performance and public conversation.
