With sequels becoming the new trend in Tollywood, seasoned star Venkatesh is set to join the bandwagon. If industry buzz is to be believed, the actor has given his nod to the sequel of his 2025 blockbuster Sankranthiki Vasthunam.
Titled Adhiripodhi Sankranthi—a name currently under consideration—the much-anticipated sequel is expected to hit screens during the Pongal holidays in January 2027. The film will be helmed once again by director Anil Ravipudi. who is among the biggest hits these days. While the sequel will carry forward the festive spirit, sources clarify that it will feature a completely new script and fresh character arcs.
Interestingly, the sequel is said to bring together Venkatesh and his nephew Rana Daggubati on the big screen. “Both actors will have strong and engaging roles, and their on-screen clash will be one of the major highlights,” a source revealed.
Earlier, Venkatesh and Rana shared screen space in the controversial yet successful web series Rana Naidu, where they portrayed estranged father and son, showcasing darker shades. “This time, however, both will be seen in positive, good-hearted roles, matching each other stride for stride in performance,” the source added.
