The release week of the crime thriller So Long Valley turned controversial as the film’s producer and director Man Singh filling ₹10 crore defamation suit against actress Ruchi Gujjar, alleging conspiracy, threats, and disruption aimed at causing financial loss and tarnishing the film’s reputation.
According to the official statement, Ruchi Gujjar had allegedly paid ₹20–30 lakh to her friend Karan Chauhan. Ruchi Gurjjar misled certain cast members by urging them not to work on the film. She further attempted to block the film’s release through a court application, which was dismissed as the court ruled in favor of Man Singh, confirming that Gujar had no financial or contractual involvement with the production company and therefore could not obstruct the release.
Despite the legal setback, the situation escalated during the premiere show of So Long Valley, where Ruchi Gujjar allegedly created a scene, hurled a sandal and a water bottle, resulting in an FIR being registered by Amboli Police against her and six others.
Addressing the media post-incident, Man Singh, accompanied by his legal team, expressed strong disapproval of the actress’s actions. He stated that the film has faced severe financial impact and negative publicity due to these false allegations and threats. Ruchi Gujjar even intimidated actors and service providers despite having no link with the film’s production. We have filed a ₹10 crore defamation claim to ensure accountability.
Legal team, representing Man Singh, confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated and that additional actions are under consideration. So Long Valley, starring Tridha Choudhary, Akanksha Puri, and Man Singh, released on July 25 and continues to draw attention amid the controversy.
