Vishwambhara is directed by Mallidi Vassishta of Bimbisara fame and stars Megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead. The director, in his latest interview, revealed key aspects of the plot, which revolves around a mythological and fantastical narrative.
The story is set in a fictional realm beyond the 14 known worlds (lokas) in Hindu mythology, called Vishwambhara. The protagonist embarks on a journey to this realm to rescue the heroine (Trisha Krishnan) and bring her back to Earth.
He said that the story is totally distinct from Chiranjeevi’s 1990 film Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari. The film features a significant focus on visual effects, with around 70% of the movie incorporating VFX to depict spiritual and fantastical elements.
"Vishwambhara has all the makings for a blockbuster film and we are quite elated about the output," the director said in February this year while in Tirumala. The film is a big-scale one. "Even the songs will be shot lavishly, with elaborate sets and choreography. Action sequences will feature more fighters and diverse backdrops to heighten the visual impact,” a source told DC last year.
