Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has acquired the Indian distribution rights for Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming mythological epic movie titled Ramayana.
The mythological project stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. This collaboration marks a massive theatrical partnership within the Indian film industry. While Dharma Productions will look after the domestic theatrical release across India, Warner Bros. Pictures has been locked in to handle the movie's overseas distribution.
The partnership brings together leading production powerhouse Dharma and a major Hollywood studio to scale the project globally. More details about the supporting cast and official release dates are yet to be revealed.
The film also features Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Kajal Aggarwal and others. Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman are its music directors.
