Kiara Advani Yet to Find Her Feet in Tollywood?

Kiara Advani’s recent outing Toxic has failed to make much of an impact with the Telugu audience, adding to a difficult phase for the Bollywood actress in Tollywood. Her earlier Telugu film Game Changer also failed at the box office, leaving her waiting for a solid success in the industry.

“She needs just one good hit to turn things in her favour,” says producer M S Raju. Addressing the social media chatter that labels her as “jinxed”, he says such comments should not be taken seriously. “Filmmakers will sign her soon once they find the right role for her,” he adds.

M S Raju points out that Kiara has already tasted success in Telugu with Bharat Ane Nenu, in which she starred opposite Mahesh Babu. “She was appreciated for her good looks and talent. It is just a matter of time before she gets a plum role in Tollywood,” he says.

The actress has also established herself in Bollywood with successful films such as Kabir Singh, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Satyaprem Ki Katha. “She has already proved herself in Hindi cinema. It is only a matter of time before she makes her mark in South cinema as well,” he adds.

Kiara, however, faces stiff competition from other Bollywood actresses who are increasingly finding space in Telugu cinema, including Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Mrunal Thakur and Rashmika Mandanna.

“No actress can avoid competition; it is part of their profession. With Tollywood filmmakers increasingly making pan-India films, Bollywood actresses will continue to get more opportunities in Telugu cinema,” he adds.
