Mumbai: Contrary to reports, National Award winner Kangana Ranaunt has not called off her shoot for Krish’s ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ after suffering a major injury on set in Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City, where she got a deep cut on her forehead while filming a sword fight scene with co-star Nihar Pandya.

When an entertainment website contacted her after news of the injury broke out, the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress had said, “I am a bit embarrassed to be thrilled to have a battle scar on my face. Also, people from my team have been telling me that it's like that Peshwa teeka that Manikarnika wore. It's a bit dramatic but I am excited that my face was covered in blood and I got a genuine and authentic glimpse of the Queen's life.”

A renowned journalist had reported that the actress has not started shooting as per schedule but the reality, reportedly, is that she was supposed to resume work on Saturday, which she did.

A source from the sets told the same website that the film’s shooing process is ‘going on in full swing’. The source revealed, “Yes, the swelling is there and the director Krish thought we had to avoid close ups but they could film a lot of wide and mid close-up shots as we are into the climax battle. Kangana did a couple of riding shots yesterday. We are shooting the battle sequences with more than 500 soldiers. The shoot is going on in full swing and the whole team is quite gung-ho about it.”

On Saturday, Kangana was spotted at the Mumbai airport in a olive green sari. Proving that she, indeed, has resumed work.

This is not the first time that the actress has met with an accident on a film set. Earlier this year, while shooting for Hansal Mehta’s ‘Simran’, Kangana was involved in a car accident in America. Although she escaped unhurt, crew members of the film sustained minor injuries.

‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ also marks the debut of TV star Aankita Lokhaande. Atul Kulkarni, too, will be seen playing a pivotal role in the film.

The magnum opus is slated to release on April 27 next year.
