An actor’s brand career completely depends on how his films are performing at the box office. After Jagga Jasoos crashed and burned, Ranbir Kapoor’s endorsements have now taken a beating.

A major paint brand, which Ranbir had been endorsing, has asked him to reduce his fees for the renewal of the contract. Ranbir’s managerial team had been planning to increase the fee during the renewal, but that was not to be after the film, directed by Anurag Basu, performed poorly at the box office. All the younger stars have been hiking their price, but Ranbir’s price has remained stagnant in the ad world.

“Ranbir desperately needs his Dutt biopic to do well if his position as a brand ambassador for products needs to change for the better. All Ranbir needs is a box office super hit and he will be back,” says a senior media observer.

Interestingly, Ranbir is also scheduled to work on the Kishore Kumar biopic that is being directed by Anurag. Ranbir is not a producer in that film. We wonder if papa Rishi Kapoor will let Ranbir work in the film, especially after his tirade against Anurag’s work ethics.
