She has been in the industry for a decade but has done just a handful of movies. Yet, Aditi Rao Hydari can be called ‘class personified’. She belongs to the league of her contemporaries Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apte, but Aditi shrugs off the comparisons.

“I can’t put myself in anyone else’s shoes. All of them are very different and each one of them is trying to do their best. I only focus on what I am supposed to do. I’m more concerned about the director I work with and the story line, which should be intriguing,” she begins.

“As an actor, I always want more. My talent which has yet not been tapped can be a boon to me and filmmakers as well. I like to work with intelligent filmmakers who can extract the maximum work out of any actor,” she says.

Speaking of tapping her talent, she is currently acting in Manish Jha’s comedy movie The Legend of Michael Mishra, starring Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani. “I had signed up for the movie long back. The script is so different, bizarre and hilarious.”

However, Aditi’s favourite movies of hers are Wazir and Fitoor. “Both may have not done well at the box office, but they are my best. My character Hazarat in Fitoor will be remembered even after 20 years. I love Wazir too; my character was meaningful even with such less screen time.”

Asked about the rumoured affair with her Wazir co-star Farhan Akhtar, she adds, “I just wish people have other things that interested them, like the work I do. When I was new, rumours used to upset me, but today it doesn’t matter anymore. As long as I know what the truth is, I can sleep peacefully. People who really need to know what the truth is, already know it,” Aditi says.

The actress, who marked her B’town debut in 2008 with Delhi-6, is happy about her journey so far. “When I did Delhi-6, I was very young that I did not even know what it was like. But I am happy for what I have done till now. I always like to rejuvenate my acting calibre. And I like to work harder,” she says.

She also has immense respect for Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, who have found place even in Hollywood. “They have made our country proud. I am trying to make a strong foothold in Bollywood now; Hollywood films may come at a later stage,” she adds.
