If  anyone thinks Taapsee Pannu is  going to be  slapped around by trolls, the Thappad actress has a surprise  for them.

Rather than  get rattled  by the  move, Taapsee says, “We are happy we’ve given work to some unemployed  people  on social media. That’s all I’ve to say because I don’t give much importance to such  trivial matters.”

To rewind a  bit, the issue is  related to the time when Taapsee attended an anti-CAA protest meeting in Mumbai. This  solidarity with  protesters is, according to some, a sign of Taapsee’s anti-nationalism.

A similar situation had arisen when Deepika Padukone had visited  the Jawaharlal Nehru University  before the release  of  Chhapaak.

However, tying  up  Thappad with  Taapsee’s earlier  action (of  attending an anti-CAA event) is way  off the mark. Tapsee is rightly  unfazed. At the  moment her focus is on creating awareness that  domestic violence  on any level is wrong. “This culture of  ‘Thappad se nahin Sahib humein pyar se darr lagta hai’ (Sonakshi Sinha’s  popular dialogue  from Dabangg)  must be reversed. Hopefully it will  change now after Thappad,” she says.
