Chris' Katrina gaffe tickles Priyanka Chopra
Chris, while announcing the line-up of his Mumbai event referred to Kat as Katrina Kaif Kapoor'
Coldplay’s trip to India later this year has raised excitement levels quite high. Add to it the fact that a whole load of Bollywood stars are to be present for the social initiative concert, and the attention towards the show is piqued.
However, the band’s vocalist, Chris Martin made a major gaffe while announcing the line-up of the show, referring to Katrina Kaif as ‘Katrina Kaif Kapoor’ seemingly missing the memo about her separation from beau Ranbir Kapoor.
The vocalist was on stage at the Global Citizen Festival, New York, talking about the event’s maiden outing to India. Along with the vocalist were Priyanka Chopra and Pankaja Munde, as he spoke about the upcoming gig, bringing out a piece of paper and reading out names of Bollywood A-listers such as Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, who are to perform at the show as well. Chris, who is known to have a special affection for India said, “I’m so excited about going to India on November 19 with Jay-Z and lots of other people, who I have on a list; Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif Kapoor, A.R. Rahman, Farhan Akhtar…”
At this point, Priyanka reacted to his faux pas with a surprised look.
Chris enquired if he’d mispronounced a name. “Did I pronounce all of these wrong?” he asked. Priyanka slyly responded with a smile and said, “No, it was close, it was close.”
