Shruti Haasan and Michael Corsale break up

What was thought to be a mere rumour of yet another star marriage being on the rocks turned out to be true in the case of Shruti Haasan and her boyfriend Michael Corsale. The London based theatre and film actor posted an announcement on his official social media handles that they are separating.

“Life has just kept us on opposite sides of the globe unfortunately and so we have to walk solo paths it seems. But this young lady will always be my best mate. So grateful to always have, (sic)”, tweeted Corsale and shared a picture of his with Shruti on his Instagram account. Kamal’s daughter has, however, remained silent thus far over Corsale’s tweet.

The 7 Aam Arivu star’s  recent post on her Instagram, on April 10, reads ‘Begin Again’, thanking for the ‘love’ was apparently an indicator that a breakup was on the cards.

 Shruti had posted, “Begin again, a new phase, thankful and blessed, for all the love lessons and light. The brightest light shines deep inside the darkest of places. More music more movies and more me - can’t wait. Being with myself has and always will be my greatest love story.”

Shruti Haasan had been in a steady relationship with the London-based Michael Corsale, an actor of Italian descent, for the last few years. It appeared Shruti had even declined to do films in order to live and work with Corsale and spent most of her time abroad. A couple of months ago there were reports suggesting that Shruti Haasan is getting married to her long time beau Michael Corsale by the end of the year. The actress was quick to react in her own inimitable style. Having spent Christmas and New Year with Michael, she had rubbished those rumours.

She took to her social media handle then to say, “Really? That’s news to me!”  In an Instagram post, Shruti also revealed in a self-deprecating manner, “We are the gushiest most annoying people we swore we would never become”.

On an earlier occasion in the city, the actress was present along with Michael Corsale and dad Kamal Haasan at the wedding of actor Aadhav Kannadasan's (grandson of legendary late poet Kannadasan) who is one of her close pals. While she was attired in a silk saree, Michael was seen in Tamilian traditional clothes, wearing a Pattu Veshti and pattu shirt.
