Janhvi confirmed for Ranveer's Temper remake, to have meatier part than Kajal's?

It’s  not yet official. But it soon will be. Sridevi and  Boney Kapoor’s elder-born Jahnavi Kapoor is going places. As  soon as she wraps up her work in her debut film Dhadak  with Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khattar, Jahnavi  will move to her second  project.

We can say in  all certainty that  it will be Rohit Shetty’s Simba, the Hindi remake  of the Telugu hit Temper. While the original  starred NT Rama Rao Jr and Kajal Aggarwal, the two roles will be essayed  by Ranveer and  Jahnavi in the Hindi remake.

According to a  source in the know, Jahnavi’s role is being “substantially upgraded” as the space in the original for the heroine was “gender-constrained” due to the patriarchal  profile  of the Telugu film  industry.

Says  the source, “Jahnavi will be  sharing a  lot more screen space with Ranveer than Kajal Aggarwal in the original.Since Karan Johar  is  co-producing Simba it was his idea to cast  Jahnavi. Boney had reservations  about this project since he had seen the  original and felt the heroine’s role was limited in scope. But Karan who is mentoring Jahnavi and  launching her in Dhadak, assured Boney and Sridevi that a hardcore masala  film with Rohit Shetty is  just what Jahnavi’s career needs as  its post-debut booster.”

It’s interesting to see Jahnavi  following in  her legendary mother’s  footsteps so early in her career by doing a Dhadak and Simba side by side. Sridevi  balanced a Sadma with a Himmatwala.
