Sushant Singh Rajput's Chanda Mama' release locked for Jan 26, 2018
The filmmakers have frozen the long weekend for the film, a year in advance.
Possibly as a result of the squabble over the release date for Kaabil and Raees, Sushant Singh Rajput has planned the release of his ambitious project Chanda Mama Door Ke, a whole year in advance. Touted as Bollywood’s first space film, it is scheduled to release on January 26, 2018.
Filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan says, “We are releasing our film on Republic Day next year. This film is of such scale that it needs that kind of a window for its release. It’s perfect because it is a Friday and we’ll get the long weekend. It’s the kind of films that should be release either during Republic or Independence Day.” Sushant Singh Rajput plays an astronaut in the science fiction film and as part of his training, recently took lessons on flight simulation. Directed by Sanjay Puran Singh, the film which will also have some heavy VFX work which will go on floors soon. The film will also have Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a prominent role.
