Luv had allegedly earlier appro ached him for a film starring Ajay Devgn and Kartik Aaryan refused to do the film as the fees for the film wasn’t up to what he was asking — Rs 3 crore. Ranbir Kapoor has eventually stepped into the film.

Not one to stop loving the boy he launched, Luv again approached Kartik for another film that he intended to produce. But Kartik told him that he was only doing films that he believed in. “What the young generation does not realise that they were nobodies earlier when they were launched. They are launched with a lot of fanfare by the makers and the films are made, sold and perform well only on the basis of content. Once they become stars, then they seem to be knowing everything about content and belief in the script,” says an industry source.

Kartik Aaryan made his debut with Luv Ranjan’s Pyar Ka Punchnama and though his next film Akashvani did not do well, the sequel to Pyar Ka Punchnama was a hit again. Then Luv managed a Rs 100 crore hit in the form of Sonu ke Titu Ki Sweety earlier this year which made Kartik a star.

It has to be noted that other films that starred Kartik Aaryan like Kaanchi and Guest In London directed by other filmmakers like Subhash Ghai and Ashwini Dheer have fallen by the wayside and became flops.

Kartik has currently filmed Luka Chhupi for producer director Dinesh Vijan and is slated to do Imtiaz Ali’s next.

Meanwhile sources close to Kartik denied that he had refused the film.
