Sanjay Dutt is on his way to getting back to the camera. He has said yes to three new projects so far. One is Siddharth Anand’s action film for which Dutt needs to get more physically fit. Another is Rajkumar Hirani’s next in the Munnabhai series.

However, the third project that Sanjay Dutt has just taken on comes as a complete surprise. He will star in a film directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.  Previously, they’ve teamed up for two of Chopra’s directorial ventures — Mission: Kashmir  and  Eklavya — besides being closely associated for the Munnabhai series that Chopra produces.

Chopra, it must be remembered, has not directed a film since Eklavya in 2007. The temptation to do something with Dutt was really strong this time. Says a source, “It’s a very emotional father-daughter story with shades of Sanjay  Dutt’s own relationship with his daughter Trishala. Vidhu Vinod Chopra wants to tell this story as a homage to the emotional side of Dutt’s personality.”
