Raj N Sippy’s Satte Pe Satta in 1982 was a rough remake of the Hollywood classic 7 Brides For 7 Brothers. While superstar Amitabh Bachchan played the eldest brother in a family of misfits, one hears Farah Khan who is doing the remake plans to play up the Bachchan character more than the other characters to accommodate Hrithik Roshan’s superstardom.
Apparently Hrithik loves the script, but wants his role to be fleshed out. “The A-listers no longer want to do multi-starrers. Gone are the days when Bachchan shared scenes with Sachin, Ranjeet, Sudhir and others in Satte Pe Satta; now Hrithik won’t do a 7-character story unless his character stands out. Sure, he did war with Tiger Shroff, but that was a one-off face-off film taken on after much persuasion from Aditya Chopra,” says a source.
It seems the second Bachchan remake of Hrithik’s career (he did Agneepath in 2012) would be radically different from the original.
