Long ago in 2003, Preity Zinta had acted in the Abbas-Mustan directed film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke based on female surrogacy, where she played a woman whose womb was rented to facilitate a child for Salman Khan and Rani Mukerji’s characters. Preity played a sex worker in the film, who develops feelings for the child.

The more modern version of this is Laxman Utekar’s upcoming film Mimi. It stars Kriti Sanon, who is essaying the role of an entertainment industry aspirant whose womb is rented by a couple who want a child, and she has to do it to fuel her life ahead.

We now hear that there is another surrogacy-based film in the works, and it is on male surrogacy. Sources also inform that Rajkummar Rao has been approached for the said role.

“Raaj Shaandilyaa, who made Dream Girl with Ayushmann Khurrana recently, is planning that film which is on male surrogacy. Since the topic is very close to what Ayushmann Khurrana had essayed in the film Vicky Donor a few years ago, Raaj did not approach his Dream Girl hero and opted for Rao instead,” say sources.

Rajkummar Rao is in the meantime also busy with his international project White Tiger along with Priyanka Chopra.
