Naysayers may niff and naff about his dressing style, but when it comes to matchmaking, candid talk, and emotional support, writer-director-talk show host Karan Johar is the go-to guy or rather the unofficial matchmaker (Sima Aunty aka Sima Taparia) of Bollywood.

After unveiling the poster of Sara Ali Khan’s upcoming film, Ae Watan Mere Watan, at the 54th International FiIm Festival of India, Karan quipped, “I am like this big gossip aunty of Bollywood, who must know about what is happening in everybody’s life.”

Boasting about his matchmaking skills on his popular show Koffee with Karan, the versatile filmmaker asked actor Sara Ali Khan and actor-radio host Rohini Ramanathan if they were seeing someone. When both the women burst out laughing and tried to brush off the topic, Karan said, “Darling, just come and sit on my coffee couch. All the couples who had come and sat on my couch in the past have eventually got married,” adding, “That’s my track record and I take full credit for that.”

Our stars do move in strange ways. When paparazzi quiz them about their relationships, they seal their lips. But Karan has a knack for unsealing those lips.
It may be recalled how in Season 6 of Koffee with Karan, KJo had asked Katrina Kaif who would look nice with her. Pat was her reply: Vicky Kaushal! Fast forward to 2022. Both (Katrina and Vicky) are married now. In 2016, Ranveer Singh too had confessed that he would like to marry Deepika Padukone. The duo got married in 2018. Ditto, with Alia Bhatt. She had confessed about her big crush on Ranbir Kapoor. They got married in 2022.
