18 scripts await Shah Rukh’s nod

While no paperwork has been done and no final decisions have been taken, there are reports that an OTT major other than Netflix has sent feelers to King Khan to make content for them as well,” say sources.

It may be recalled that there were rumours that Bhandarkar had approached Khan with a film on the sand mafia. Atlee had given him an action script, and Hirani had pitched a Punjab-to-Canada migration script.

Tigmanshu Dhulia had sent a script on Shiv Kumar Patel alias Dadua, the dacoit, for Shah Rukh to produce. Ali Abbas Zafar had asked SRK to work on a sports biopic. Shimit Amin had approached him for a web series on girmitiyas.

His Class of ’83 starring Bobby Deol has been announced as a Netflix original for release soon and his Kahaani spinoff Bob Biswas, starring Abhishek Bachchan, will be released after the shooting, halted due to the lockdown, is complete.

There was a speculation that SRK may work with Sriram Raghavan after the two had a long session during a film festival in Melbourne, but then sources close to Raghavan dismissed it as mere rumours.

Will SRK make an announcement soon, or will we have to wait till November 2, his birthday, for news?
