Mumbai: Some of the biggest stars from the film industry applauded the efforts of PV Sindhu, who won a silver medal after putting up a spirited display in the finals of the badminton competition at the Rio Olympics 2016.

The entire nation was glued to the television sets on Friday, cheering for Sindhu, who even won the first set against world no.1 Carolina Marin. She also became the first Indian woman to win a silver medal at the Olympics and her achievement follows wrestler Sakshi Malik’s bronze medal victory this year.
