Kartik Aaryan's growing respect for journos

Kartik Aaryan is acting as both a television journalist and an RJ in his upcoming film Dhamaka. The actor has interacted with many journalists during his career, but working in the film, a remake of the Korean film The Terror Live, has changed the way he looks at the profession.

“My respect for journalists has increased. I realised the kind of work they do and it opened my eyes. I got a chance to interact with a few television reporters. I could not meet them personally due to the pandemic situation, but I managed to watch them working through Zoom calls. I followed the same pattern when I interacted with the RJs,” says Kartik about the preparation for the film.

Dhamaka is directed by Ram Madhvani. With the film, Kartik has moved on from rom coms to a dark, intense and brooding character.  “Luv Ranjan Sir and I have done four films together —  the two films in the Pyar Ka Punchnama series, Sonu ke Titu Ki Sweety and Akashvani. But honestly, Akashvani has been our favourite film though it was not a hit,” says Kartik.
