The authorities of Priyadarshini Academy have decided to honour her for ‘showing excellence in her field'.

Katrina Kaif

Mumbai: Known to the world for her flawless beauty and dream-like body, Kats has managed to add yet another feather to her already glossy hat. This time, she wins the prestigious Smita Patil award for her contribution to Indian Cinema. While it is no secret that her acting skills has always been scrutinised, the internet world is beyond shocked to learn about her latest achievement.

From calling her the first wax statue in the world to comparing her expressions to ‘Jadoo’ from the movie ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, critics from the virtual world have left no stone unturned to humiliate the actress. While for some it is nothing less than a joke, others feel it is disrespectful to give an award of this stature to someone half as talented as the ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ actress.

Priyadarshini Academy, an NGO committed to socio-economic and educational activities, is the governing body that honours actresses of worth with this award after every two years. Established in 1984, the NGO has recognised the works of many supremely talented actresses in the past, like Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachhan to name a few.

With her latest release ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ earning a lukewarm response at the box office, this announcement should bring some comfort to the leggy lass.
