Exclusive: Vidya Balan recommended Gauahar Khan for Begum Jaan

It’s always heart-warming to come across stories of friendship in showbiz, and the latest budding camaraderie is that of Vidya Balan and Gauhar Khan. Vidya revealed on the sets of TV show that she appreciated Gauhar’s work so much, that she recommended her for Begum Jaan.

Says a source from the sets, “Vidya is a close friend of the director, and was part of the creative process of the film since its commencement. As the film has many girls, they required a new faces. Guahar mentioned that Vidya recommended her and that she was surprised to learn about it.”

Guahar, who has previously worked in Ishaqzaade went on to thank Vidya for believing in her and giving her an opportunity to work in the film.

Adds the source, “Vidya mentioned that she has watched all of Guahar’s previous works, and likes her acting and personality. She also mentioned that she fits the character, and the director had liked her recommendation.”
