Jhanvi Kapoor has been in the news even before her debut and Karan Johar seems to have spotted her potential.

Mumbai: Marathi film ‘Sairat’ was one of the biggest hits of the year and its popularity has already led to the film being considered for remakes in several languages, with Karan Johar reportedly bagging the rights for the Hindi remake.

Considering the fact that the film is a love story of teenagers, none of the current Bollywood heroines can perhaps fit the bill. Karan would thus need to cast a fresh face for the film and Sridevi’s elder daughter Jhanvi Kapoor is all set to make her debut with the film, reported DNA.

Jhanvi has already been in the news for several of her pictures on social media and reports of her debut have also done the rounds since some time now. And now it seems that she will step into the shoes of Rinku Rajguru, who earned immense appreciation and popularity for her role in ‘Sairat’’.

Sridevi apparently asked Karan to launch Jhanvi with a big film and Karan was earlier contemplating on casting her in the sequel of ‘Student of the Year’ opposite Tiger Shroff. But the delay of the film has prompted him to instead launch her with the ‘Sairat’ remake.

It would now be interesting to see which male actor would step into the shoes of Akash Thosar’s character, another young star kid?
