Known for coming up with innovative ideas for her shows and movies, Ekta Kapoor is currently promoting a new web series called Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai.
The story revolves around the life of a 40-year-old man, who finds love outside marriage, and the producer believes that it’s high time Indians came out and spoke about infidelity and sex. “India mein khaane ke daant aur hote hain aur dikhane ke aur (We’re two-faced). Our population is so large, and we still have problem with talking about sex,” she asserts. “There are so many extra marital affairs in our country. We hide the why and how of how these take place for the society. What happens with extra marital relationships is what this show is basically about.”

While she delves into true love in her serials, what does the term mean to Ekta herself, we ask. “According to me, true love comes without boundaries; it’s without any prohibition. If you love someone while you think about the society simultaneously, then it’s an adjustment, a compromise.”

She adds, “But when you go against the tide and against society for your love, and you know you’re right, then there’s some honesty in it. That takes a lot of pain to go through with.”

The web series, that’s already on air on the AltBalaji app features Ronit Roy, Mona Singh and Gurdip Kohli in lead roles.
